Harika Masud joined the International Budget Partnership (IBP) in July 2007. As a Program Officer, she provides research and project management support to the Open Budget Initiative. She provides training and technical assistance to organizations on good practices related to public financial management, reports on project activities, and researches innovative civil society methods and tactics to promote sound public financial management practices. Prior to working with the IBP, Harika worked with the National Employment Law Project and the World Bank in the United States and the Lahore University of Management Sciences and Kashf Foundation in Pakistan. She obtained her Bsc (hon) in Economics and Social Sciences from the Lahore University of Management Sciences, and she holds a MA in Public Policy Analysis from the University of Michigan.

Georg Neumann Transparency International Germany

Georg Neumann joined the Communications Department at Transparency International in June 2005. He is responsible for Internal Communications and coordinating Transparency International's social media strategy, after working on the content management and development of the Transparency International website. Prior to Transparency International, Georg did freelance project work for the German Federal Ministry of Justice and has previously worked for a PR Agency and the German Chemical Industry Association. Georg Neumann has completed his German civil service in development assistance in Tijuana, Mexico, and graduated from social and economic communication sciences at the University of Fine Arts in Berlin in 2005. Engi is the co-founder of the Egyptians Against Corruption (EAC).  She is also a founding member of Shayfeen.com, the Egyptian popular monitoring movement, and the president and founding member of the Afro Egyptian Human Rights Organization (AEHRO).  Engi holds an MSc from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

Shaazka Beyerle International Center on Nonviolent Conflict Canada

Shaazka Beyerle is researcher, writer and educator in civic empowerment and strategic nonviolent action, and a Senior Advisor with the International Center on Nonviolent Conflict (ICNC). Through a grant from the United States Institute of Peace and support from ICNC, she is conducting a two-year research/book project on citizen participation and nonviolent civic action to fight corruption – in order to document cases and distill general lessons and best practices. Corruption may be the sole focus, or it may be linked to other concerns, such as poverty, budgets/spending, state service provision, violence, authoritarian rule, organized crime, human rights, environmental destruction, or other issues.

Ms. Beyerle teaches and speaks about citizen engagement and nonviolent action - online and at workshops, seminars, and conferences.
