The New Tactics project includes material resources that systematically document the range of options available to human rights advocates, and show how to choose tactics, as well as, ideas for adapting and implementing tactics that have demonstrated promise in other circumstances. A growing number of the New Tactics materials have been translated into other languages that have been highlighted as important by human rights advocates in their own country and/or region and have been successfully adapted into these new contexts. We are very interested in partners identifying New Tactics materials and resources for translation into cross-border, national and local languages that would have potential application their own country and/or region in order to make these materials as accessible as possible. Before deciding on material to translate, be sure you reference the list of translated material to avoid duplication.
Some of the priority materials and resources identified by the New Tactics Project based on previous demand include the following materials:
- The book New Tactics in Human Rights: A Resource for Practitioners offers a conceptual framework for thinking strategically and tactically to defend and promote human rights, and provides approximately 100 examples of innovative tactics used around the world. - More than 45 Tactical Notebooks, created by participants from the regional cross-training workshops, provide detailed information on the use of their tactic and how it may be adapted to other situations. (Link: /Notebooks/Grid)
- Resources on strategic and tactical thinking including self-guided materials and hands-on exercises to learn about strategy and tactics. (Link: /TrainingTools) You may want to see a few examples, use the links below for English:

- Tactical examples: The New Tactics website includes a searchable tactics database that contains more than 160 tactical examples. (Link: /tactics/database)
- An e-newsletter goes out monthly in English to more than 3000 individuals and highlights specific tactics and information for inspiring tactical innovation. - On-line dialogues and collaborative planning: The capacity for website forums for discussions on human rights strategy building and tactical application as well as tools for collaborative planning is available on the New Tactics website to project partners as well as anyone in the New Tactics online community. We highly encourage proposals to consider how they might take advantage of new information and communication technology (ICT) tools for discussions of experiences on the application of tactics and New Tactics resources for furthering human rights efforts (Links: /dialogues/home) and collaborative planning.
